In my
previous blog, i discussed about the first .com domain and the present
domain count in world and some countries. I have also discusses about the most
expensive domain name ever.
As I have
promised to you all, i am going to continue the discussion. The year 1985
witnessed 5 websites which are BBN.com, Think.com, Symbolics.com, MCC.com and
DEC.com. This was just the beginning after this lot of thing has happened.
HP.com was the first two letter domain registered ever; it got registered in
1986.
Some
records has also been made in the industry as www.thelongestdomainnameintheworldandthensomeandthensomemoreandmore.com is the longest domain name registered ever.
Do you know that what are the most popular 5 websites of today? These are
youtube.com, google.com, facebook.com, yahoo.com and live.com. You Tube owns
1trillion video playbacks i.e. 140 video playbacks per person on earth. Every
minute of time witnesses 48 hours of video upload. You Tube has 76.4 % of share
in US video website market.
After
videos let me tell you something about images on internet. During 2011 14
million Instagram accounts have been created and 60 photos are being uploaded
per second on Instagram. 100 billion photos have already been uploaded on
facebook by mid-2011. Flickr is also trying to be in competition as it has 51
million registered users and 4.5 million photos are being uploaded on Flickr
each day having total 6 billion photos by August 2011.
